Drew is the Diretor of Communications and a vital member of the executive team as a web-designer and developer. With a BA in Communication Journalism from The University of Illinois Chicago and a BFA in Interactive Media and Web Design from the Illinois Institute of Art.
He is the digital force behind Greenfeset.org. As a Graphic Artist and Designer he has worked extensively to create content and features for the website that not only highlight the work that Greenfeast is doing in the community, but also to develop a web based synergy between those that are in need and those that wish to lend a hand.
Drew's vision is to not merely have a website but to create a comprehensive, interactive, web based vision of the organization's mission and goals; one that allows members and vistors to get involved in a manner that fits them iniviually and be a part of what Greenfeast is trying to do in the community. His extensive knowledge and unique understanding of social media outlets such as Facebook, Youtube and Twitter are invaluable to Greenfeast and its efforts to get the organization's message out to the public at large. His belief is that the website of the organization should be akin to the eyes being the window to the soul, and he has pledged to find new and creative ways to bring our group vision of fighting hunger and helping those in need into the digital realm.
Drew lives in Chicago in the Printers Row area of the South Loop and has recently helped revitalized a company called Burton History Trees, an organization with an amazing 30 year history producing one of a kind pieces of art. Each tree tells the story and history of the organization that commisioned the work, with the content of each tree uniquely arranged in chronological order and sized by significance. Thus, the story of the organization is told from beginning to end by combining names, images and sketches. This inspired Drew to create the Greenfeast History Looks banner for the innaguration of our first food pantry to be located in the South Chicago neighborhood. The logo features the neighborhoods of South Chicago, Avalon Park, and Chatham and incorporates the community landmarks, places and people that contribute to and are part of those neighborhoods. Drew is in the process of working with students from Curie High School to paint the graphic as a mural onto the outer south wall of the building.
